Fiction Book Club
Join YPK members to discuss this month’s book — Starter Villain by John Scalzi! We’ll meet at Lakeshore park (more specificity to come) so bring a picnic blanket and any of your own snacks/beverages to have while we chat about the book. You don’t have to have finished the book to join, but please know that we won’t avoid spoilers!
YPK Outdoor Affinity Group: Run/Walk Club
Looking for a little motivation to get moving during the week? Join us as we run/walk with the Old City Athletic Club (OCAC) run club on 5/14! We will be running/walking from Barley's Taproom in the Old City. All distances and paces are welcome!
Knoxville Smokies Game at the New Covenant Health Ballpark
Batter up for big fun and join YPK for a night out at the ballpark as we cheer on our home team the Knoxville Smokies at their New Downtown Knox Stadium!
Volunteer at Children's Festival of Reading
Join YPK in volunteering for the Children's Festival of Reading at World's Fair Park! This event is hosted by Knoxville County Public Library. Thousands of kids, with their families, will meet popular authors and enjoy storytellers, musicians and entertainers. There will be food vendors, crafts and activities for the whole family. YPK is honored to support the future readers & leaders!

Trivia at Maple Hall
Welcome to the YPK Trivia Team!
We try to meet once a month around town, and due to popular demand we will be returning to Maple Hall.
And if trivia isn't your thing, no worries! Come by and socialize--their upstairs lounge is super cozy, they have great food and reasonably priced drinks.

Summer Kick Off
Join YPK to start the summer off right at the Cove! Hopefully, the sun will be shining so bring a blanket, sunscreen and come enjoy the warming weather. There is lake swimming, paddle boarding, sand volleyball, and other summer themed fun!

Volunteering at Ijams Nature Center
Volunteer with YPK by removing invasive species with the Ijams Natural Resource Management team! You'll learn to identify invasive plant species and be trained in removal/control techniques. We'll learn at a lot about the plants around us while also getting to know your fellow YPK members!

This is rain or shine, labor-intensive work, and volunteers typically get dirty, but the result is very rewarding. Gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts (protection from thorns and poison ivy). Bring water and bug spray!
