Board nominations are now open!
Members may now nominate themselves or other members for the 2019 YPK Board. To be eligible, YPK members must be current on dues and have been a member at least since 2017. Current committee involvement is heavily considered.
Once nominations close, the executive board will vote on the 2019 proposed slate, which will be presented to the entire YPK board for approval. The final slate will be confirmed at the Impact Awards in November.
To nominate yourself or another YPK member, please email email@example.com. Make sure to include why you or who you are nominating would be an asset to the particular role on the board and any experience within YPK or another organization that is relevant to the position. Committee chair and co-chair positions include:
Social: Planning 12 events per year including Happy Hours, Summer Party, and Holiday Party
Membership: Coordinate all membership drives and the 4 General Membership Meetings per year, including Impact Awards
Professional Development: Coordinate 6 events per year that focus on professional development topics
Community Outreach: Coordinate 6 events per year that focus on giving back to the community
Marketing: Create all marketing materials for the organization including social media, website, eblasts, blog posts, press releases, and more
At-large: Reserved for more tenured members of YPK, usually 3+ years of membership, this position works both like an advisory position and as an ad-hoc chair for special initiatives created by the board's yearly objectives.
Finance: Creates and manages annual budget and oversees invoices/billing for annual member dues and sponsorship donations
We ask when nominating yourself or another member to the board you consider this as a two year obligation (co-chair positions typically roll into committee chairs year two). Please also note it is the expectation that each board member attend a monthly board meeting, all events coordinated by their committee, all 4 General Membership Meetings, and both YPK 101 sessions per year. If this time commitment is unrealistic for your schedule, please consider serving on a committee instead of applying for a board position.
