We are looking for members to join our various committees! These committees help with planning and promoting everything from Community Outreach to the Impact Awards. Time commitments and responsibilities vary depending on the committee, so simply read the brief descriptions below to see if any of them stick out to you.

Committee Descriptions

Community Outreach

This committee plans bi-monthly service and philanthropy projects, along with brainstorming ways to partner with other events.

Impact Awards

This committee plans the annual YPK Impact Awards, from the awards nominations to the ceremony. The committee meets monthly beginning late spring/summer.

Leadership Certificate

This committee is only open to former LC program participants.* This 8 member committee is responsible for planning the Leadership Certificate Program for the year including reviewing curriculum, contacting facilitators and more. Duties include attending approximately 3 planning meetings, coordinating at least 1 class session, and attending the program kickoff and class celebration.


This committee uses email newsletters and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to inform members and prospective members about YPK events. They also maintain the YPK Website and update it with new info recognizing YPK events and spotlighting our members and their work in Knoxville.



This committee plans the three General Membership Meetings and two YPK 101 events. They also assist with registration and check-in for many of YPK’s larger events, including the Summer Soiree and Impact Awards. The committee meets monthly throughout the year.

Professional Development

This committee seeks to empower our members to develop the skills, connections and confidence to become leaders in their respective organizations and the Knoxville community. We strive to create exclusive events with exciting speakers and opportunities to sharpen leadership skills.


The Social Committee meets quarterly to brainstorm ideas for the locations of our upcoming happy hours and networking events. Overall, we plan fun venues and strive to engage members in networking.

This committee will seek businesses and professionals to build our budget and raise funds to support YPK events.
